The Del Mar Fairgrounds is the host for the 2006 California's Strongest Man
contest as well as one of the largest and most attended county fairs in the
nation. To find out more about the Del Mar fairgrounds, visit their
website.
The contest is being held on
the last weekend of the fair and attendance is expected to be very high. The
contest will be held on the actual race track, with stadium seating for the
audience. Benefits of being held on the racetrack include the close proximity of the
Beer Garden, the use of both the 60 foot Jumbo-Tron on the track as well as the
smaller one in the Beer Garden so everyone can see everything up close.
There will be reserved parking
close by for athletes as well as private showers after the contest. The fair is
a lot of fun so if you want to hang out after the contest is over, you can get
cleaned up and enjoy yourself without having to go back to the hotel first.
More details will be available
soon.

Here you can see some of the Fair's Beer Garden and the smaller
of the two Jumbo-Trons. Del Mar has graciously offered us the use of their state
of the art sound system and the competition will be broadcast on the Jumbo-Trons
so everyone will have a front row seat for the action! The athletes will be able
to see themselves on a 60 foot screen.
