The Apollon's Axle lift will consist of an Apollon's Axle loaded with 240 pounds for the Lightweight Division and 260 pounds for the Heavyweight Division.

The Axle is an official Iron Mind Apollon's Axle. The Axle is 2 inches in diameter.

  •  The lift must be completed by cleaning the axle and then pressing it overhead.
  •  The lifter must stand straight, erect and stable, with hips and elbows locked out.
  •  The lifter must bring his head through.
  •  Chalk is permitted.
  •  The athlete must clean the axle and then press it overhead as many times as he can, waiting for the judge's signal for each rep. The athlete must clean the axle at least once but may press as many times as he is able.
  •  The athlete may put the axle down and clean it again to continue pressing, but may not drop or throw it down. It must remain under control at all times.
  • If the athlete should drop or throw the Axle down, or not wait for the Judge's signal, that rep will not be counted.
  • Elbow and wrist supports may be used. Judges may disqualify wraps or sleeves if they unfairly restrict the athlete's range of motion.
